MOC Beacon Technologies

Knowledge. Skills. Growth.

Effective Date: 2nd September 2026

Last Updated: 2nd September 2026

Policy Version: 1.0

1. Introduction

Welcome to MOCBT E-LEARNING CONCEPTS, the digital learning platform of MOC Beacon Technologies.

These Student Guidelines are designed to help students understand how to use the LMS effectively, responsibly, and securely. They explain the expected student experience from account registration and course enrolment through learning, assessments, progress tracking, certificates, support, and account management.

The Guidelines also establish the standards of conduct expected from every student using the platform.

By creating an account, enrolling in a course, or using the MOCBT LMS, students agree to comply with these Student Guidelines, the applicable Course Policies, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Refund Policy.

2. Student Responsibility

Every student is responsible for:

  1. Providing accurate registration information.
  2. Maintaining the security of their account.
  3. Using their own account when learning.
  4. Completing required course activities honestly.
  5. Respecting instructors, administrators, and other students.
  6. Protecting course materials from unauthorized distribution.
  7. Keeping their email address and other account information up to date.
  8. Reviewing important course announcements.
  9. Using the LMS responsibly.
  10. Reporting technical, account, payment, or security problems promptly.

Students are encouraged to take an active role in managing their learning journey rather than relying entirely on reminders or automated recommendations.

3. Creating a Student Account

Students must create an account before accessing features that require authentication.

Registration may require:

  1. Full Name
  2. Username
  3. Email Address
  4. Phone Number
  5. Password
  6. Acceptance of applicable terms and policies

Students must provide information that is accurate and belongs to them.

Account ownership

A student account is personal to the individual who registered it.

Students must not:

  1. Create an account using another person's identity.
  2. Register using another person's email address without authorization.
  3. Allow another person to use their account.
  4. Sell, rent, transfer, or share their account.

4. Email Verification

Email verification is an important part of the MOCBT account-security process.

After registration, students may be required to verify their email address using a verification code or other verification mechanism provided by the LMS.

Students should:

  1. Check their inbox after registration.
  2. Check their spam/junk folder if the message is not visible.
  3. Use the latest valid verification code where multiple codes have been requested.
  4. Avoid sharing verification codes with anyone.

Students should contact support if they are unable to complete email verification after following the available instructions.

5. Login and Account Security

Students may access their account using the available login methods, including:

  1. Username
  2. Email
  3. Student ID

Students are responsible for keeping their password confidential.

Students should:

  1. Use a strong and unique password.
  2. Avoid sharing passwords.
  3. Avoid saving passwords on public or shared computers.
  4. Log out from devices that are not personally controlled.
  5. Change their password if they believe it has been compromised.

MOCBT personnel will not normally require a student to disclose their account password.

6. Password Recovery

Students who forget their password should use the official password-reset process.

The LMS may require the student to provide their username and receive a verification code through the email address associated with their account.

Students should never send their password to support personnel.

If a student believes that someone else has accessed their account, they should immediately:

  1. Change their password.
  2. Review their account activity where available.
  3. Contact MOCBT Support.

7. Forgot Username

Where the username-recovery feature is available, a student may request their username by providing the email address associated with their account.

The system may send the relevant account information to the registered email address.

Students should protect any account-recovery information received through email.

8. Student Dashboard

After successful login, students are provided with a personalized learning environment.

Depending on the student's account and course activity, the dashboard may provide access to:

  1. My Learning
  2. My Courses
  3. Learning Plan
  4. Progress
  5. Achievements
  6. XP
  7. Learning Reports
  8. Certificates
  9. Payment History
  10. Profile
  11. Account Settings
  12. Support Tickets
  13. AI assistance
  14. Other available learning features

Students should regularly review their dashboard to stay informed about their learning progress and available activities.

9. Enrolling in Courses

Students may browse available courses before making an enrollment decision.

Before purchasing a course, students should carefully review:

  1. Course title
  2. Course description
  3. Learning objectives
  4. Requirements
  5. Course content
  6. Course duration or estimated learning time
  7. Assessment requirements
  8. Completion requirements
  9. Certificate information
  10. Price
  11. Applicable course policies
  12. Refund Policy

Once payment is successfully confirmed, the student's course entitlement may be created automatically.

10. Course Pricing and Currency

MOCBT maintains course prices using Nigerian Naira (NGN) as the base currency.

Where automatic currency conversion is enabled, visitors from other countries may see an estimated price in their local currency.

Students should understand that:

  1. Currency conversion is based on available exchange-rate information.
  2. Exchange rates may change.
  3. The displayed converted amount may differ from later exchange-rate calculations.
  4. The final transaction amount is determined by the applicable payment process.
  5. The transaction should retain the applicable currency and exchange-rate information for record-keeping.

The original NGN course price is not overwritten merely because a visitor views the course in another currency.

11. Payments and Enrollment

MOCBT may provide several payment options, including:

  1. Paystack
  2. Flutterwave
  3. NOWPayments/cryptocurrency
  4. Manual payment
  5. Other payment methods introduced by MOCBT

Students should complete payment only through the official payment options presented by the LMS.

A student should not assume that a course has been successfully purchased merely because a bank, card, or payment application shows a debit.

The LMS must confirm the transaction before finalizing the corresponding enrollment.

If a student is charged but does not receive course access, they should contact support with the transaction reference.

12. Manual Payment

Where manual payment is available, students may be required to:

  1. Make payment using the provided instructions.
  2. Submit the required payment information.
  3. Upload proof of payment where requested.
  4. Wait for administrative verification.

Manual payment does not necessarily provide immediate course access.

Students should not submit false, altered, or misleading payment evidence.

13. Course Access

Once enrollment has been successfully confirmed, students may access the course from My Learning/My Courses.

Depending on the course, learning materials may include:

  1. Video lessons
  2. Text lessons
  3. PDF documents
  4. DOCX documents
  5. Quizzes
  6. Assignments
  7. Additional resources
  8. Announcements
  9. Discussion/comment features

Students should use the official LMS learning interface rather than attempting to bypass access restrictions.

14. Learning Through learn.php

The MOCBT learning environment is designed around a dedicated course-learning experience.

Students should use the learning page to:

  1. View course topics.
  2. Watch lessons.
  3. Read learning materials.
  4. Access permitted resources.
  5. Complete required activities.
  6. Track progress.
  7. Take assessments.
  8. Add personal notes.
  9. Review announcements.
  10. Participate in permitted discussions.
  11. Ask MOCBT AI for learning assistance.
  12. Contact support when necessary.

Completing a lesson should be done through the LMS so that the student's progress can be recorded correctly.

15. Course Modules and Lessons

Courses may be organized using a structure such as:

Course → Modules → Lessons/Topics → Learning Activities

Students should work through the required topics systematically.

Some courses may allow students to move freely between lessons, while others may use prerequisite or sequential learning requirements.

Students should pay attention to course-specific instructions displayed within the learning environment.

16. Course Progress

The LMS may automatically track student progress based on completed learning activities.

Progress may include:

  1. Lessons completed
  2. Topics completed
  3. Assessments completed
  4. Assignments completed
  5. Other required activities

Students should not attempt to manipulate progress information.

If a completed lesson does not appear as completed, the student should:

  1. Refresh the page.
  2. Confirm that the lesson was actually completed.
  3. Check their connection.
  4. Try again if appropriate.
  5. Contact support if the issue continues.

17. Continue Learning

The Continue Learning feature is intended to help students return directly to their current learning point.

Students should use Continue Learning to resume their course rather than unnecessarily returning to the public course-information page.

Where a student has already completed a course, they may still be able to access the learning environment to review permitted course content.

18. Course Completion

A course is considered completed when the student satisfies the requirements established for that course.

Depending on the course, completion may require:

  1. Completing all required topics.
  2. Completing required lessons.
  3. Passing required quizzes.
  4. Completing assignments.
  5. Achieving the required progress percentage.
  6. Meeting other course-specific requirements.

100% progress should only be achieved when the LMS determines that the required learning activities have been completed.

Optional resources do not necessarily count toward completion unless specifically configured as required.

19. Assessments and Quizzes

Students must complete assessments honestly.

Students must not:

  1. Share answers for restricted assessments.
  2. Use another student's account.
  3. Manipulate assessment results.
  4. Attempt to bypass attempt limits.
  5. Falsify assessment completion.
  6. Submit another person's work as their own.

Where a course specifies a passing score or maximum number of attempts, students should review those requirements before starting an assessment.

20. Academic Integrity

MOCBT expects students to demonstrate academic honesty.

Students should submit their own work and appropriately acknowledge external sources where required.

Academic misconduct may include:

  1. Plagiarism
  2. Copying another student's work
  3. Unauthorized collaboration
  4. Impersonation
  5. Sharing examination answers
  6. Falsifying learning activity
  7. Manipulating course progress
  8. Using another student's account

Violations may affect:

  1. Assessment results
  2. Course completion
  3. XP
  4. Achievements
  5. Certificate eligibility
  6. Account access

21. Learning Plan

Students may use the Learning Plan feature to organize their study schedule.

A student may select preferred:

  1. Learning days
  2. Learning times
  3. Study schedule

The Learning Plan is intended as a planning and productivity tool.

Important:

A learning schedule does not prevent students from studying at another time.

Students may access their course whenever permitted by their course enrollment and the LMS.

22. Learning Reminders

Where enabled, the LMS may send learning reminders before a student's scheduled learning period.

The planned system may send reminders:

  1. 1 hour before the scheduled learning time.
  2. 30 minutes before the scheduled learning time.

Students should ensure that their registered email address is correct if they want to receive these notifications.

Reminders are provided as assistance and should not be treated as a substitute for personal responsibility.

23. XP — Experience Points

MOCBT may use an XP (Experience Points) system to encourage consistent learning and participation.

Students may earn XP through eligible activities configured by the LMS, such as:

  1. Completing learning activities.
  2. Completing courses.
  3. Participating in eligible activities.
  4. Completing quizzes or other approved learning tasks.
  5. Other achievement-related activities.

XP should represent genuine learning activity.

Students must not attempt to artificially increase XP by manipulating the LMS.

24. Achievements and Badges

The MOCBT achievement system may recognize learning milestones and participation.

Achievements may be associated with:

  1. Course completion
  2. Learning consistency
  3. XP milestones
  4. Study streaks
  5. Learning activities
  6. Other configured accomplishments

Students should understand that achievements are intended to recognize activity within the MOCBT learning environment.

They should not be represented as external professional qualifications unless explicitly stated.

25. Study Streaks

Where enabled, study streaks may use eligible learning activity and XP-related events to determine continued learning participation.

Students should not attempt to manipulate system dates, progress, or other technical mechanisms to maintain a streak.

A missed scheduled learning period does not necessarily mean that a student can no longer continue learning.

26. Student Notes

Students may have access to a personal notes feature within course topics.

A note may contain:

  1. Note Title
  2. Note Body

Students may be able to:

  1. Create notes.
  2. Edit notes.
  3. Delete notes.

Students should avoid storing highly sensitive personal information, passwords, payment credentials, or confidential information in course notes.

Personal notes should be used primarily for legitimate educational purposes.

27. Course Announcements

Administrators or authorized course instructors may publish announcements relating to courses.

Students should regularly check the Announcements section because important information may include:

  1. Course updates
  2. Assessment information
  3. Learning instructions
  4. New materials
  5. Maintenance information
  6. Course changes
  7. Important deadlines
  8. Other academic notices

Where available, the LMS may display a live unread-announcement count.

Students are responsible for reviewing relevant announcements.

28. Course Comments and Discussions

Where course comments are enabled, students may participate in discussions related to the course.

Students should:

  1. Remain respectful.
  2. Ask constructive questions.
  3. Avoid personal attacks.
  4. Avoid spam.
  5. Avoid posting sensitive information.
  6. Avoid publishing another person's private information.
  7. Keep discussions relevant to the learning environment.

Administrators may moderate comments where necessary.

Comments may be locked or restricted where the discussion has become inappropriate, repetitive, abusive, or otherwise unsuitable.

29. Student Support Tickets

Students can contact MOCBT Support through the LMS support-ticket system where available.

A support request may automatically contain:

  1. Student Full Name
  2. Student ID
  3. Student Email

Students may be required to select a Reason for Contact, enter a subject and message, and optionally attach supporting material.

Each successfully created ticket may receive a unique reference such as:

MOCBT-TIC-XXXXXX

Students should keep the ticket reference for future communication.

30. Support Ticket Communication

A support ticket operates as an ongoing conversation between the student and the support/admin team.

Students should reply to the existing ticket where the issue concerns the same matter instead of repeatedly opening identical tickets.

The LMS may provide:

  1. Student/admin message bubbles.
  2. Reply notifications.
  3. Unread-message counts.
  4. Email notifications.
  5. Ticket status.
  6. Conversation history.

Students should provide clear information when responding to support.

31. Avoiding Duplicate Support Requests

Students should avoid submitting multiple identical support requests for the same issue.

Repeated submissions may:

  1. Create unnecessary duplicate tickets.
  2. Delay resolution.
  3. Make the issue harder to track.
  4. Cause confusion in the support process.

Where a ticket already exists, students should continue the conversation through that ticket unless instructed otherwise.

32. Certificates

Students who satisfy all required course-completion conditions may receive a certificate.

A certificate may include:

  1. Student name
  2. Course title
  3. Completion date
  4. Certificate number
  5. Authorized Signatory
  6. Verification information
  7. QR code where applicable

The certificate is intended to confirm completion of the specified MOCBT course.

It should not be presented as a government licence, professional licence, university degree, or externally accredited qualification unless the relevant course is expressly described as such.

33. Certificate Eligibility

Certificate eligibility is determined by the course's configured completion rules.

Students should not request a certificate before satisfying the required conditions.

Where the system automatically generates certificates, the certificate may become available immediately after successful completion.

If a certificate is not generated despite the student satisfying all requirements, the student should contact support rather than attempting to create or modify one independently.

34. Certificate Verification

Where certificate verification is available, third parties may verify a certificate through the MOCBT verification system.

Students must not:

  1. Alter certificate information.
  2. Change the certificate number.
  3. Modify the completion date.
  4. Replace the student name.
  5. Manipulate the QR code.
  6. Present an altered certificate as an official MOCBT document.

Suspected fraudulent certificates may be investigated and invalidated.

35. Learning Reports

Students may have access to a Learning Report showing information about their learning activity.

Depending on the LMS configuration, a report may contain:

  1. Student information
  2. Course information
  3. Course progress
  4. Completed activities
  5. Learning performance
  6. Completion information
  7. Other relevant learning statistics

Where a downloadable PDF report is available, students should treat it as an official learning record generated by the LMS and should not alter it in a misleading manner.

36. Access After Course Completion

Completing a course does not necessarily mean that the student loses access to the learning environment.

Where the course remains available to the student's account, a completed student may continue to use learn.php to review permitted learning materials.

This allows students to:

  1. Review lessons.
  2. Revisit learning materials.
  3. Review notes.
  4. Review announcements.
  5. Refresh their knowledge.

Certificate completion and continued learning access are therefore separate concepts.

37. Course Materials and Copyright

Course materials are provided for the student's permitted educational use.

Students must not redistribute, resell, republish, or commercially exploit protected course materials without authorization.

This includes unauthorized distribution of:

  1. Videos
  2. PDFs
  3. DOCX materials
  4. Course text
  5. Presentations
  6. Assessments
  7. Templates
  8. Downloadable resources

Students should never upload MOCBT course materials to public file-sharing platforms or distribute them through unauthorized channels.

38. Account Sharing

Account sharing is prohibited.

A student's account may contain:

  1. Personal information
  2. Learning progress
  3. Assessment records
  4. XP
  5. Achievements
  6. Certificates
  7. Payment history
  8. Support conversations

Sharing the account can compromise both the student's information and the integrity of the LMS.

Where unauthorized account sharing is detected, MOCBT may take appropriate action.

39. Personal Information and Privacy

Students should provide only information that is necessary for the relevant LMS function.

Students should not publish sensitive information through:

  1. Course comments
  2. Support tickets
  3. Notes
  4. AI conversations
  5. Discussion areas

Examples include:

  1. Passwords
  2. Payment-card information
  3. OTP codes
  4. Security credentials
  5. Government identification numbers
  6. Another person's private information

Students should review the MOCBT Privacy Policy for information about how personal data is handled.

40. MOCBT AI Assistant

The LMS may provide different AI-assisted experiences depending on where the student is using the platform.

Public/Visitor AI

The public MOCBT AI Assistant is primarily designed to help visitors understand:

  1. The MOCBT platform.
  2. Available courses.
  3. Course payment.
  4. Account creation.
  5. Email verification.
  6. Login.
  7. Student pages.
  8. Course completion.
  9. Certificates.
  10. Learning reports.
  11. XP.
  12. Achievements.
  13. Learning plans.
  14. Other MOCBT platform-related information.

Student AI

Authenticated students may have access to a broader AI assistant for learning and platform assistance.

It may assist with:

  1. Understanding learning materials.
  2. Explaining concepts.
  3. Lesson summaries.
  4. Revision questions.
  5. Learning recommendations.
  6. Study planning.
  7. General educational guidance.

Students should remember that AI-generated information can contain errors and should be reviewed where accuracy is important.

41. Responsible Use of AI

Students must not use MOCBT AI or other LMS AI features to:

  1. Cheat in restricted assessments.
  2. Circumvent course requirements.
  3. Manipulate course progress.
  4. Obtain unauthorized examination answers.
  5. Impersonate another student.
  6. Attack or abuse the LMS.
  7. Generate fraudulent academic records.

Where a course establishes specific rules regarding AI-assisted work, those course-specific rules take precedence for that activity.

42. Student Onboarding Guide

New students may receive a guided introduction to the LMS after account creation and their first login.

The onboarding experience may introduce:

  1. Profile
  2. My Courses
  3. Learning Plan
  4. Achievements
  5. Learning Report
  6. Certificate
  7. Account Settings
  8. Support Ticket

The guide is intended to help new students understand the platform.

Once the onboarding guide has been completed, dismissed, or otherwise recorded as completed, it should not repeatedly interrupt the student's learning experience.

43. Student Profile

The student profile provides information about the student's account and learning identity.

Depending on the LMS configuration, the profile may display:

  1. Full Name
  2. Student ID
  3. Email
  4. Phone
  5. Biography
  6. Profile picture
  7. Learning information
  8. Achievements
  9. Other permitted account information

The profile-display area is primarily intended for viewing.

Students should use Account Settings for information that the platform permits them to edit.

44. Account Settings

Students may be able to update:

  1. Full Name
  2. Email
  3. Phone Number
  4. Biography
  5. Profile Picture
  6. Password

Students should keep their contact information accurate.

Changing Email Address

If the student changes their email address, the new address may require verification before it becomes the active account email.

The verified email address may subsequently be used for:

  1. Account notifications
  2. Password recovery
  3. Learning reminders
  4. Support notifications
  5. Important LMS communications

45. Profile Picture

Students may upload a profile picture where the feature is available.

Students should use an appropriate image and must not upload:

  1. Illegal content
  2. Abusive content
  3. Impersonation images
  4. Offensive material
  5. Content belonging to another person without authorization

MOCBT may remove inappropriate profile images.

46. Learning Notifications

Students may receive notifications relating to:

  1. Course announcements
  2. Support-ticket replies
  3. Learning reminders
  4. Account activity
  5. Certificates
  6. Other important LMS events

Students should ensure that their registered email address is accessible and functional.

Where the LMS provides notification controls, students should configure them appropriately.

47. Mobile and PWA Usage

MOCBT E-LEARNING CONCEPTS is designed to support learning on mobile devices as well as desktop devices.

Students may access the LMS using:

  1. Smartphones
  2. Tablets
  3. Desktop computers
  4. Laptop computers

  3. PDF not displaying.
  4. DOCX resource not opening.
  5. Progress not recording.
  6. Certificate not appearing.
  7. Login failure.
  8. Course enrollment missing.
  9. Payment confirmed but course unavailable.

Students should provide:

  1. A clear description of the problem.
  2. Relevant course name.
  3. Screenshot where useful.
  4. Error message where available.
  5. Transaction reference for payment issues.

50. Downloaded Learning Materials

Where course materials are available for download, students may download them for their permitted educational use.

Downloading a resource does not transfer ownership or copyright to the student.

Students must not:

  1. Resell downloaded materials.
  2. Upload them publicly.
  3. Share them through unauthorized groups.
  4. Repackage them as another course.
  5. Remove copyright or ownership information.

51. Refunds and Student Responsibilities

Students should review the MOCBT Refund Policy before purchasing a course.

Because digital courses may provide immediate access to learning materials, refund eligibility can be affected by:

  1. Course access.
  2. Course usage.
  3. Downloaded materials.
  4. Assessment attempts.
  5. Course progress.
  6. Certificate status.
  7. Reason for the refund request.

Students experiencing genuine payment or service-delivery problems should contact support so the issue can be investigated.

52. Student Conduct

Students must maintain professional and respectful conduct throughout the LMS.

Students must not:

  1. Harass other users.
  2. Threaten staff or students.
  3. Post abusive content.
  4. Spam discussions.
  5. Attempt unauthorized access.
  6. Upload malicious files.
  7. Disrupt LMS operations.
  8. Impersonate another user.
  9. Abuse support channels.
  10. Attempt to exploit system vulnerabilities.
  11. Publish private information belonging to others.

53. Security and Responsible Use

Students must not attempt to:

  1. Bypass authentication.
  2. Access another student's account.
  3. Modify another student's progress.
  4. Manipulate certificates.
  5. Alter payment records.
  6. Circumvent course restrictions.
  7. Exploit application vulnerabilities.
  8. Interfere with LMS databases or APIs.
  9. Upload malicious scripts or files.

If a student discovers a security vulnerability, they should report it responsibly to MOCBT rather than exploiting it.

54. System Availability

MOCBT aims to provide reliable access to the LMS.

However, temporary interruptions may occur due to:

  1. Scheduled maintenance
  2. Hosting problems
  3. Network problems
  4. Security incidents
  5. Third-party service interruptions
  6. Software updates
  7. Circumstances outside MOCBT's reasonable control

Students should not attempt to bypass technical restrictions during maintenance or service interruptions.

55. Course Updates

MOCBT may update course content to improve educational quality or maintain current information.

Updates may include:

  1. Correcting errors.
  2. Updating outdated information.
  3. Adding learning resources.
  4. Improving assessments.
  5. Improving accessibility.
  6. Updating technical instructions.

Students should review relevant course announcements when notified of important changes.

56. Student Communication Standards

When communicating with administrators, instructors, or support personnel, students should:

  1. Be respectful.
  2. Explain the issue clearly.
  3. Provide relevant evidence.
  4. Avoid abusive language.
  5. Avoid repeated duplicate messages.
  6. Use the correct support channel.
  7. Protect confidential information.

Professional communication helps the support team resolve issues more efficiently.

58. Consequences of Policy Violations

Depending on the nature and seriousness of a violation, MOCBT may take appropriate action, which may include:

  1. Warning the student.
  2. Removing inappropriate content.
  3. Restricting a feature.
  4. Invalidating an assessment.
  5. Removing an improperly obtained achievement.
  6. Suspending course access.
  7. Suspending the student account.
  8. Revoking improperly obtained certificates.
